STEVENSVILLE – William H. Severson, 40, of Stevensville, died north of Darby in a vehicle accident of an unknown cause on Monday, Dec. 22, 2014. He was born March 11, 1974, in Hamilton. Bill was raised in the Bitterroot Valley and graduated from Fergus County High School in Lewistown in 1994. His talent and passion in the culinary arts was his main source of employment and joy to cook for others. Bill was a gentle soul with a big heart who served others selflessly.
Bill belonged to the local order of Knights of Columbus at St. Mary Catholic Parish. He enjoyed spending time with family, outdoor recreation of hiking and fishing in God’s country.
Bill’s father Don is deceased. Bill is survived by his mother Elaine of Stevensville; his siblings, Tony and his wife Maria of Stevensville, Jeff and his wife Denise of Victor, Donna of Hamilton, Jennifer and her husband Tom of Corvallis; Fr. David, currently working in Harlowton and Joe Elhard a very special friend of Bill and the family.
Pallbearers will be Knights of Columbus, Our Lady of the Rockies Council.
Visitation will be at St. Mary Parish from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 30, prior to a vigil beginning at 7 p.m. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. before the vigil. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at noon Wednesday, Dec. 31 by Fr. Matthew Huber with concelebrants, Msgr. Kevin O’Neill and Fr. David Severson and any other Catholic priests who would like to concelebrate. The Mass will be followed by a Christian burial in St. Mary Cemetery and a reception at St. Mary’s Center.
