A 21-year-old man is charged with federal sex trafficking crimes after allegedly prostituting two girls in the Missoula area.
Roam Savage Chandler pleaded not guilty to seven charges, including two for giving methamphetamine to one of the girls, during his initial appearance Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Missoula.
A federal indictment against Chandler was issued in October. The document said that in late April and early May, Chandler used backpage.com to solicit clients to prostitute two minor girls in the Missoula area.
He is also charged with lying to federal investigators about the alleged prostitution.
Chandler made his court appearance after being transported from the Montana State Prison where, according to the Department of Corrections, he is serving sentences for separate instances of felony burglary and drug possession from Gallatin County.
