Community Medical Center is working through their sale to the joint Billings Clinic and RegionalCare Health, and I keep hearing swirling rumors about how this will somehow make them less committed to Missoula.
I don’t profess to know the ins and outs of this deal, but from what I have learned it looks like an important influx into Missoula. I do know firsthand how committed CMC is to Missoula—they hired my company to produce their magazines when they could have worked with an organization out of Arizona. They hire local photographers and web designers and writers. This is all just in their marketing department—not even their staff.
They also have supported Alpha Graphics, Big Dipper Ice Cream, Le Petite, Black Coffee, etc., with their "Random Acts of Community" program.
They have propped up our business with magazines, sponsorships and advertising and best of all, encouragement. They encouraged us to attend a national hospital marketing confidence where we were exposed to game-changing opportunities for our business.
While at that national event, I saw that most small hospitals are changing to partnerships, and most nonprofits are changing status. This seems like the best possible outcome for ours.
I was born at CMC. My kids were born there. I am excited to see what the expansion of services with this new partnership will be and I feel confident we will continue to see the commitment to Missoula that has always been at the heart of our Community.
