To the staff who published in the Sept. 25 Sunday Missoulian editorial: you have chosen to use your newspaper to endorse the blatant torture, killing and degradation of other sentient life by asking all of Montana people to vote for trapping on public lands? I couldn’t believe what I was reading. You have blatantly asked Montana voters to vote no for Initiative 177 and instead continue to allow the torture of animals, birds and domestic animals? Again, I couldn’t believe what I was reading.
I feel so ashamed as a human being that there are some humans who choose to torture and kill other animals without regard for the suffering, pain and death of another living being. Trapping is not a sport, it is not hunting, it is nothing but a blatant abuse, torture and killing.
Please vote yes for I-177. This comes from a native Montanan who was lucky enough to have a father who taught me the value of all living beings.
