The only problem with the new health care reform law is that it is the law the insurance companies, the medical companies, and the pharmaceutical companies would allow. It is not the law the people wanted, namely, either a public option or single-payer, preferably single-payer.
It’s long past time to get the private sector out of health care; this law does little to reduce or eliminate the chaos caused by the private sector running health care. But, it is a start and I look forward to future erosion of private control; however, the difficulties continued under the present law will be seen as the reason the law is flawed and therefore should be repealed.
I see this as akin to a person trying to get out of a deep hole: Instead of having a rope to get directly to the top, the person has to struggle for a handhold, and finding little or none, falls back. Well, maybe this little handhold will be enough and another handhold will be found. Eventually the person gets to the top, but it would be easier and more economical to just throw him a rope.
