My name is Nick Lisi and I am running for Missoula County Sheriff.
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. I have 32 years of law enforcement experience. My qualifications include over 70 POST-certified training schools and four POST certificates - basic, intermediate, advanced and supervisory. I have an associate's applied science degree in police science, bachelor of science degree in criminal justice, master's of arts degree in education, lifetime teaching certificate for the State of California Community Colleges in police science. I am a certified crisis intervention instructor, tactical operation course instructor, civil disorder training instructor (tactical response, tear gas, hostile environment, gang convoys, citizen and police rescue), mobile field force training instructor, certified NRA instructor, shooting cadre instructor/counter sniper Metro C-Platoon. While on the lieutenants list I chose to retire.
I am a firm believer in states' and citizens' constitutional rights. The Second Amendment is a right that the sheriff has a responsibility to protect. I believe that the sheriff has the responsibility to protect the citizens of his county from outside law enforcement agencies. Too often law enforcement agencies from outside of a county or state believe they know what is best for the local law enforcement and citizens and that is simply untrue.
The county of Missoula has many issues that it faces when it comes to the safety of its citizens. Everything from burglary, assaults, drug crimes and alcohol-related deaths on the highways and roads. I believe that I have the skills and the knowledge base to address these issues in a practical manner within the budget.
The people of Missoula County are the ones that elect the sheriff and they deserve a sheriff that will represent them by standing strong on states' rights, keeping them safe and secure.
