I would like to express my support for the expansion of Mountain Line bus routes, an ordinance that will be up for the vote on the Nov. 5 ballot.
Throughout the 17 years I have lived in Missoula, I have reaped the benefits of our local bus system and found them to be responsive to both criticisms and compliments. Living downtown, the current route system is sufficient on a personal level, but I would like all of Missoula’s citizens to have access to the same safe modes of public transportation as I do.
In order for this necessity to be made a reality, the bus system needs more funding – which will come in the form of a mill levy. If passed, this levy would raise approximately $1.7 million and would allow Mountain Line higher frequency service to key routes, evening bus service on various routes, and would expand specialized transportation services.
Affordable, convenient, efficient transportation is the key to Missoula’s future. Please vote in favor of the Mountain Line Mill Levy on Nov. 5!
