I am disappointed, but not surprised that the Missoulian has chosen to publish Rob Foote’s so-called letter “Christmas wish: Had enough of Gary Marbut.” Publishing it has once again revealed both the bias and low standards of the Missoulian.
I have known Gary Marbut for many years, and while I do not agree with him all of the time, I am grateful for his tireless efforts to insure that our rights are protected, and highly respect his commitment.
Perhaps if Rob Foote had chosen to say that he wished Ellie Hill or Mayor Engen would “go away”, the Missoulian would have hesitated to publish a one sentence, personal attack that lacked any narrative or discussion. But while Ellie Hill can condemn Montana laws even before a trial, and Mayor Engen can align himself with Mayors Against Guns (sic), they seem to enjoy more respect and courtesy from the Missoulian.
The Missoulian owes Gary Marbut and its subscribers an apology.
