In Tim Zalinger's letter of Nov. 23 regarding the passage of the $34 million Parks and Trails bond, a largely false claim was made, and the same claim was just repeated approvingly in another letter on Dec. 3 by Diane Hilmo.
The claim was, "It stinks that every registered voter got to vote for it, but only homeowners have to pay for it. That shouldn't be legal."
Obviously neither of these people has ever been a landlord or has the faintest idea how being a landlord works.
The reality is that landlords pass on increases in their expenses to tenants. So most everybody is going to pay for those bonds (the exception might be students in university housing).
