It seems none of the government officials have ever heard the Chinese proverb: Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, teach him to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.
Building tennis courts gives a man a job for a short time but soon he will need another government stimulus. When the money runs dry that kind of spending will not help our unemployment or economy.
We need to build the wind turbines for wind farms from our raw materials. Clear the clogged forest and plant new trees. Build power transmission lines to Montana population and not California. How about a big tax on power leaving Montana just like Alaska taxes oil from its north fields? Let's use the oil trust fund to build power lines and save Montana residents money on energy cost and draw businesses seeking cheaper power.
We have some huge potential here - but not the legislators that can see beyond party lines - to accomplish anything.
