MISSOULA - Mayor John Engen and Police Chief Mark Muir have scheduled a public meeting on Tuesday to discuss their strategy for managing public safety during the upcoming visit of Hell's Angels motorcycle gang.
The meeting will take place at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the City Council chambers at 140 W. Pine St.
Larry Howell of the University of Montana law school will serve as moderator. Howell was a member of the citizens review committee that looked back at the 2000 Hell's Angels visit to Missoula and made recommendations for new approaches.
Engen and Muir will talk briefly about plans for the late-July and early-August visit and listen to comments from citizens during Tuesday night's meeting.
