DILLON - This year's wet spring has left the mountains in the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest with above-normal amounts of snow.

With warming weather melting the snow - possibly rapidly - forest officials are warning anyone going into the forest to be alert for fast-moving, high water in creeks along with flooding and damaged roads and trails.

For more information or to report problems, forest users should call the ranger station nearest the area of interest.

Here's the list of Beaverhead-Deerlodge ranger stations: Dillon, 406-683-3900; Butte, 494-2147; Wise River, 832-3178; Wisdom, 689-3243; Sheridan, 842-5432; Ennis, 682-4253; Whitehall, 287-3223; Philipsburg, 859-3211; and Deer Lodge, 846-1770.
