ANACONDA - A 22-year-old man was charged Tuesday with felony vehicular homicide while under the influence for his involvement in a fatal crash west of here earlier in the day.

Justin M. Saltenberger made his initial appearance in Justice Court on Tuesday for the crash that killed 72-year-old Lee Lang of Anaconda.

Montana Highway Patrol Sgt. Art Collins said Saltenberger was driving a pickup truck with two passengers on Montana 1 when he swerved into oncoming traffic and struck Lang's car at about 2:30 a.m.

Lang, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene. One of Saltenberger's passengers was injured in the wreck.

Saltenberger was arrested Tuesday morning on suspicion of drunken driving. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 5.
