Four young adults have been charged in connection with a Ronan woman’s death.
Cassandra Harris, 24, was found unconscious and seriously injured on Saturday morning near McDonald Lake, according to the Lake County Sheriff's Office. She was taken to the intensive care unit at Kalispell Regional Medical Center, but later died.
According to a Lake County Sheriff’s Office press release, Lake County detectives, aided by the Montana Highway Patrol and tribal police, arrested four people for alleged roles in her injuries and subsequent death.
Joseph Parizeau, Jr., 22, of Ronan; Julia Vaile, 18, of Browning; and Gale Hendrickx, 19, of Pablo have been charged with negligent homicide. Donnovan Sherwood, 18, of Arlee, has been charged with obstructing justice.
In a press release, Lake County Sheriff Don Bell said that Vaile and Hendrickx were released from jail following a court hearing Monday. Sherwood and Parizeau remain in custody. The police are not pursuing anyone else in connection with the crime, Gilmore said.
