A man with ties to Missoula is in custody after police allegedly found him with more than 20 images depicting little girls involved in sexual behavior.
Joshua Daniel Carroll, 27, appeared in Missoula County Justice Court on Monday to face two felony counts of sexual abuse of children.
According to court documents, police became aware of the man's alleged activities in May through a tip from the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children, reporting his suspicious activity on Twitter.
The Twitter accounts, which are not listed in the court documents, displayed nearly 20 disturbing images of little girls in sexual positions.
Detective Chris Shermer, who investigates cases for the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, followed up on the lead and found the Twitter handles allegedly belonged to Carroll, who was living in Missoula at the time.
Shermer and Detective Shawn Manraksa obtained search warrants for Carroll's house and contacted the man at his work.

"Carroll admitted obtaining illegal pictures on Twitter and Kik," the affidavit of probable cause stated. "Carroll stated he is attracted to 7-year-old girls."
The two detectives seized the man's phone and found three images of a little girl that were taken June 6.
The little girl appears to be fully clothed in the pictures. However, Carroll appeared to be attempting to take pictures of the girl's crotch area.
During his initial appearance Monday, Carroll told Justice of the Peace Karen Orzech that he lived in Oregon, but didn't have an address.
He faces two counts of sexual abuse of children: the first charge for possessing the pornographic images he obtained and posted on social media, and the second for possessing inappropriate sexual pictures of the little girl on his phone.
Orzech set bail in the amount of $50,000, in addition to $2,500 for a warrant out of Helena, before remanding him to Missoula County jail.
