BOZEMAN — A former Three Forks police officer is suing the city and the police chief, claiming that Chief Troy Burdick became hostile after Burdick's relationship with the officer's friend became rocky.
Cary Bradbury and his wife Katherine Main filed the lawsuit in Gallatin County District Court last week. The Bozeman Daily Chronicle reports that they claim wrongful termination, negligence and privacy and civil rights violations.
Three Forks city attorney Bob Planalp says neither he nor Burdick had seen the complaint
Bradbury and Main say Burdick had a long-distance relationship with a female friend the couple introduced to the chief. They say Burdick blamed Main for the relationship deteriorating and began making the workplace intolerable for Bradbury.
The lawsuit says Bradbury resigned to stop Burdick's harassment of him and his wife.
