FRIDAY'S FIRST FORECAST: Rainy, highs near 50

Good Friday morning, western Montana! The National Weather Service says we're due for a rainy day, with high temperatures near 50 degrees. Winds will be from the south, becoming east, at 8-11 mph, with gusts to 20 mph.

Tonight, the valley rains will continue as temperatures drop to 37 degrees.

Here is the Weather Service's forecast for the weekend, and beyond:

Saturday: A chance of showers, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after noon. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 58. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west southwest. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Saturday Night: Showers likely. Cloudy, with a low around 32. West northwest wind between 9 and 13 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%.

Sunday: Rain and snow showers likely. Cloudy, with a high near 51. West wind between 13 and 20 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Sunday Night: A 20 percent chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 29.

Monday: A 40 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 52.

Monday Night: A slight chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 32.

Tuesday: A slight chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 50.

Tuesday Night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 36.

Wednesday: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 53.

Wednesday Night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 32.
