GREAT FALLS — A 56-year-old convicted sex offender is charged with breaking into the home of a Great Falls woman with developmental disabilities and raping her.

Michael Gordon Beauchman of Great Falls made an initial appearance in District Court Monday on charges of felony sexual intercourse without consent and felony aggravated burglary.

Montana's Sexual or Violent Offender Registry lists Beauchman as a Level 3 sex offender, considered the most likely to reoffend. He was convicted of a 1987 rape in Great Falls. He was arrested Friday and is being held at the Cascade County jail.
