HAMILTON - A Hamilton woman faces a felony assault with a weapon charge after allegedly hitting another woman with her car.
According to the affidavit, Evelyn Elaine Hendrickson, 59, had made an arrangement with family members about payment for a U-Haul parked on her property.
A disagreement about the payment led someone to suggest moving the trailer from the property, court records report. Hendrickson then allegedly got in her car and attempted to move it to block the trailer.
While attempting to move her vehicle, a woman stood in front of Hendrickson to stop her. Hendrickson continued to drive, hitting the woman’s leg and pushing her knee “at a strange angle,” according to the affidavit.
The alleged victim began banging on the hood of the car. Another woman joined her, court records report. After moving about four feet, Hendrickson stopped the vehicle, according to the affidavit.
Officers who responded to the scene noted Hendrickson was driving very slowly during the altercation.
According to the affidavit, Hendrickson said she used the car to push the woman because she wanted to block the trailer until payment arrangements could be worked out.
Hendrickson appeared in Ravalli County Justice Court Monday and was released on her own recognizance.
