LIVINGSTON - Employees at Livingston HealthCare, Park County's largest private employer, have overwhelmingly rejected union representation.
Thursday's 103-to-23 vote came after six months of meetings with union representatives and involved employees from 19 departments.
Last November, some LHC employees expressed workplace frustrations to union representatives from the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees. About two months ago the AFSCME petitioned the National Labor Relations Board to hold the vote.
The workers who were eligible to take part were classified by the NLRB as nonprofessional and technical employees.
Livingston CEO Sam Pleshar said in an e-mail Friday he was pleased the hospital "will maintain a direct working relationship with our employees."
AFSCME Executive Director Timm Twardoski could not be reached for comment.
