COLUMBUS - A Stillwater County jury has found a man guilty in the 2002 shooting death of a co-worker at a Rapelje hog farm.
The jury deliberated nearly six hours Friday before finding 41-year-old Richard Edwards guilty of murder and felony tampering for hiding the revolver used to kill Daniel C. Lavigne.
District Judge Blair Jones set sentencing for May 17.
Edwards' estranged wife, Sherry Edwards, has said she watched her husband shoot Lavigne while she sat in the couple's pickup truck. The couple quit their jobs with Herzog Farm soon after the killing, according to court records.
Sherry Edwards said she didn't know of a motive and that she didn't tell authorities earlier because her husband had threatened her and her family.
