After 20 years of operation, the ponies from A Carousel for Missoula are getting an upgrade to their precious barn.
The carousel has a goal to raise $309,000, and has collected $167,425 so far.
With the money, the Caras Park attraction will add a museum featuring the history of the carousel as well as its partner Dragon Hollow, an improved workshop space for volunteers, and an expanded gift shop and party area that will allow guests to experience the grandeur of the building in a more spacious setting.

Aiming to better accommodate the swelling population of Missoula, A Carousel for Missoula most certainly has high hopes for the future. Donations to this year’s campaign will also provide remodeling and repairs that will return the building to tip-top shape.
“Right now, it’s kinda crowded quarters, not only for the concession area, but for the workers who work on the horses and maintain the horses,” said fair booth volunteer Gary Weyermann.
When the carousel’s goal is met, attendees will surely appreciate a more in-depth look at one of the features that makes our Garden City so individual.
