Watch out western Montana, there's been a Twitter takeover.
Using the Missoula County Twitter account, the Western Montana Fair is making great efforts to reach out to tech-savvy generations by providing around-the-clock updates of fair news as well as a peek behind the scenes.
By tweeting and Instagramming fair pictures with the hashtag #WesternMontanaFair, visitors have created a virtual experience that depicts the animal barn, rides, rodeo and food stands from new and refreshing first-person perspectives.
“Our outreach has been to show people all the different facets of what’s going on so that they can be better informed of how the fair can benefit them,” said county communications coordinator Katie Klietz.
With this new interactive tool, the fairgrounds and the events that stop through here can now be shared throughout the online communities and the entire world can now have a look at the hidden treasures the Western Montana Fair possesses.
“I think we’re probably going to stay where we are at this point just because I think that having so many profiles can run the risk of spreading too thin and I want to make sure any of the social media outreach we’re doing is really serving a public purpose and that the public can benefit out of seeing it,” Klietz said on the possible expansion of the fair’s social media presence.
As the saying goes, pictures are worth thousands of words, and it can certainly be said that every snapshot of this year’s fair will provide hundreds of memories for the public to look back on as they reminisce on time enjoyed at the Western Montana Fair.
