Missoula County is launching a new online system for building, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, address/approach and evacuation permits.
County Public Works and Technology staff worked for three years to incorporate requested changes from the public and staff into the Odyssey software, which will be available starting Friday.
Users will have the ability to create an account, save information to be automatically populated within forms and check the status of requests. Existing account information will not be transferred into the new system automatically, but a streamlined process makes it as simple as possible. In addition, there are enhanced dashboard features, one set of construction plans, simultaneous agency review, electronic markup, account management and the ability to apply to access the site 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Users will be able to pay online by the end of next week, Aug. 14, by Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express and e-check. For more information about the payment functionality, visit co.missoula.mt.us/building.
With Odyssey’s implementation, the existing SIRE software will be taken offline. Any permits already applied for within SIRE will still be active, and the county will still have SIRE available for searches and scheduling inspections on those permits.
This Odyssey software will work with the Missoula County Property Information System that allows the public to conduct searches related to property ownership.
