Missoula city firefighters knocked down a house fire at 835 E. Beckwith Ave. late Monday afternoon.

When they arrived at the home at about 5:15 p.m., firefighters found smoke and flames in a first-floor bedroom.

Everyone had left the house, although fire crews rescued a family pet that had been left behind.

Firefighters attacked the fire from inside the house, and quickly doused the flames. The fire had not spread out of the bedroom.
