BILLINGS (AP) — December is the biggest month for liquor sales in Montana.
The state Department of Revenue says Montanans will purchase at least 70,000 cases of alcohol this month.
Sales are driven upward by seasonal shoppers, as well as businesses taking advantage of discount prices associated with the holiday to stock up for the year.
December is not the month with the most drunken driving arrests.
The Board of Crime Control says the months with the most drunken driving arrests in the last five years are August and April with more than 500 arrests on average.
