BOZEMAN - A Bozeman man and member of the Montana National Guard has been sentenced to two years in prison for stealing guns and other items from the Guard.

Christopher Aaron Allen was sentenced Tuesday by District Judge John Brown, who also fined Allen $4,000 and ordered him to pay $6,856 in restitution to the 163rd Calvary Regiment of the Montana National Guard. Allen will also have to serve eight years on probation.

Allen, a private first class, pleaded guilty to theft and burglary in January for taking two Beretta pistols, two pairs of night vision goggles, a weapon-mounted laser guide, three pairs of binoculars and a paintball training rifle from the National Guard's Belgrade center in June.
