BOZEMAN (AP) - A Montana State University recipient of a Fulbright grant is preparing to teach English in Germany.
Cathy Heidner, 23, of Kirkland, Wash., graduated from MSU in Bozeman this spring after studying secondary education and modern languages. Heidner plans to spend 10 months as a teacher's assistant in eastern Germany. Her work will begin in September.
Congress established the Fulbright Program in 1946.
Last year, the program awarded about 6,000 Fulbright grants worth a total of more than $262 million. Students, scholars and a variety of professionals used the grants to study, teach and conduct research in more than 155 countries.
