Seeley haircuts, shaved heads to benefit family of boy who drowned

  • 0

Everyone in Seeley Lake knows Fire Chief Frank Maradeo by his stylish silver locks. After Saturday, he’ll be known for his heart of gold. He, along with the members of the Seeley Lake Fire Department, will be getting his head shaved at 11 a.m. Saturday as part of a fundraising event for the Elyjah James Memorial Fund.

Four-year-old Elyjah died in a drowning accident in Seeley Lake on Thursday, Jan. 24. The proceeds from this event will go to help his family in their time of grief. The event will take place at All Decked Out in Seeley Lake.

Says the chief, “We’re hoping our local law enforcement brethren show up to get their heads shaved with us. We’re looking to raise $100 per member who gets his head shaved.”

All Decked Out will be offering $10 haircuts from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. plus a raffle, and all proceeds will be donated to the Elyjah James Memorial Fund. If you’d like to make a donation and can’t make the shearing session, send a check to the First Valley Bank in Seeley and make it out to the Elyjah James Memorial Fund.
