YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, Wyo. - Bicycle season is getting under way at Yellowstone National Park even though crews haven't finished clearing roads of snow.
On Saturday, bicyclists were allowed to ride between West Yellowstone, Madison, Norris and Mammoth Hot Springs.
The cleared roadways will likely still be covered with a layer of ice and snow and bicyclists must be prepared for winter weather. The park encourages bicyclists to ride single file and carry bear spray.
The park says it will still be a month or more before roads in the interior of the park are ready for visitors traveling in cars, RVs and buses. Until then, bicyclists have a chance to experience the park without other visitor traffic.
