HELENA - A new specialty license plate for motorcycles will help raise money for nonprofit organizations that grant wishes for ill Montana children.

The new "Chrome for Kids" plate can be purchased at any county treasurer's office for a one-time fee of $30. Fees from the plate benefit Montana's Camp Make-A-Dream and the Montana Highway Patrol Association's Hope Project.

Camp Mak-A-Dream is a free, medically supervised camp for children, teens and young adults with cancer and their siblings. The Montana Hope Project grants special wishes for chronically or critically ill children.

The new plate is silver, white and black and features "Chrome for Kids" across the bottom and Montana across the top in lettering that looks like polished chrome. It is the first specialty plate for motorcycles.
