University of Montana soccer coach Neil Sedgwick says a coaching assistant with experience in West Virginia has been hired.

Peter Underwood will succeed Tina Morse, who left for full-time graduate studies in California.

The 25-year-old Underwood will join assistant coach and recruiting coordinator Angela Morrison on Sedgwick's staff.

During the past seven years, Underwood has played and coached soccer in West Virginia.

The London native was recruited to play at Concord University in Athens, W.Va. Concord dropped men's soccer after Underwood's first season in 2002, but he was a coaching assistant for three seasons of women's soccer on Concord.

Underwood was an assistant coach for the Marshall men's soccer team in 2006-2007 and a volunteer assistant coach with the Thundering Herd women's team in 2008. He has coached in the West Virginia Soccer Club program the past three years.
