University of Montana Dining will host the 17th annual Great UM Christmas Cookie Cook-Off on Monday, Dec. 15.
This year’s event, themed “A Christmas Story,” will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. in the Food Zoo in the Lommasson Center.
The event is open to faculty, staff and students with an active Griz Card and their families and friends. Guests may take home up to half of the cookies they bake, and the other half will be donated to local youth homes, senior homes, group shelters and other nonprofit organizations.
Sysco Foodservice of Montana will donate the cookie decorations and nearly 800 pounds of dough. All other supplies will be provided by UM Dining.
Annually, more than 30 campus departments participate in the Great UM Christmas Cookie Cook-Off, donating about 300 dozen cookies to 16 local charities.
In addition to cookie making, UM Dining also will provide beverages, music and a children’s play area. Santa will join the party from 5 to 6 p.m.
