WE CARE: Group seeks helping hands

Santa's Helping Hands is a nonprofit organization started 16 years ago that helps working people who, due to illness, death in the family, under-employment or some other reason, would have a difficult Christmas. Boxes of food and gifts are delivered anonymously.

If you can help, call Donna at 721-2309.

n This father fell and broke his hip a month ago, and will not be able to work for some time. Mom works a minimum-wage job, but that leaves Christmas looking pretty thin. A boy, 10, needs size 10 jeans and boy's size small slippers, and would like G.I. Joe toys, a Legos Bionicle set and a gift card for books. A girl, 12, could use size 14 slim jeans and ladies small slipper socks, and would like a Western hat and a gift card for CDs. Mom would like food for the family, bath stuff and scented oil. Dad likes beef jerky.

n This working single mom has had high medical bills for her son this year and needs a helping hand. A boy, 7, needs a size 6 sweatshirt, warm hat and gloves, Hot Wheels toys, art supplies and a toy for his dog. A girl, 4, needs a size 5T sweatsuit and size 10T slippers, and would like an Our Generation horse and rider doll. Food and a gas card would be welcome.

n This young mother has just relocated with her two sons and elderly mother. She left a very abusive environment and is starting over. She is working and will be starting school soon. They could use some help for the holidays.

A boy, 6, would like size 6 underwear, small socks, a size small sweatshirt, G.I. Joe toys and a gift card for books. A boy, 10, needs size medium shirts, a boy's medium coat, and Star Wars and Power Ranger action figures. Mom would like a Swiffer carpet sweeper and food. Grandma loves cheese and sausage.

n This single working mother has just learned her son is losing his sight. With the extra medical expenses and the time she has had to take off work, she finds herself in need of help this holiday season. A boy, 13, needs men's large T-shirts, crew socks, size medium boxer shorts, a size large sweatshirt and medium sweatpants. He would like a gift card for DVDs. A girl, 13, needs size 2 jeans and size small underwear, and would like a gift card for CDs. Mom's greatest wish is food for the family. She also would like bath items.

n This young working mother is facing her first holiday season alone. She can make most of her expenses, but has nothing left for Christmas. A girl, 3, needs size 5T pajamas and a sweatshirt. She wants a Barbie doll and a pull toy that makes noise. A boy, 5, needs a hat and gloves, boys size 8 shirts, a big puzzle and Legos Bionicle set. Mom would like a gift card for books and, most important, food for the family.

n Santa's Helping Hands could use any donation of wild game for single moms and the elderly, as wells as food donations of any kind.

A hard-working mother and grandmother has no medical insurance and needs help with medical expenses. If you can help, contact Three Mile Creek Community Foundation, Lone Rock School, 1112 Three Mile Creek Road, Stevensville, MT 59870.
