BOZEMAN - Bozeman will be the starting point in an all-women airplane race this month from Montana to Massachusetts.
The Air Race Classic will clock the amount of time it takes a racer to go from one checkpoint to the next. There are nine checkpoints along the route, including Miles City and Aberdeen, S.D.
Pilots are not required to stop at the checkpoints. They simply must fly over a runway so a spotter can see them and record their times.
Thirty-six planes will compete in the race.
It begins June 24 in Bozeman and ends on the 27th in Mansfield, Mass.
