No more new Missoula gas stations! On Nov. 13 the Missoula City Council will be voting to approve or disapprove a new gas station at Rosauers Market at Reserve Street and South Avenue.

Why in the world is another gas station needed in Missoula? There are already four gas stations within one mile of the intersection of Reserve and South Avenue. One of these four gas stations is across the street and a second one is only five blocks away. The other two are about a mile away.

With heavy traffic on Reserve Street, why should there be another gas station to encourage more traffic and air pollution? A recent study has shown that Reserve Street has more accidents on it than any other street in Montana. A person was killed about six weeks ago at Reserve Street and South Avenue.

I would like to encourage Missoulians to contact the Missoula City Council to encourage them to vote "no" on another new gas station in Missoula. You can send an email to all council members at once and the mayor by emailing
