I am a Vietnam veteran, and I support U.S. Sen. Jon Tester because of his work to improve the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and his resistance to privatization.
I firmly believe that if the VA is privatized, it will mean huge windfall profits for political cronies and increased costs to taxpayers without any improvement to veterans' services. We owe the taxpayers the best bang for the buck, not profits for some private corporation.
Our soldiers now serve more and longer combat deployments, and those deployments take terrible tolls, creating debilitating physical and psychological wounds. As a country, we must provide the medical, psychological and rehabilitation care we promised. We owe our veterans that care. Senator Tester is working to make that happen.
