Missoulian UM men's tennis team loses all nine
EUGENE - The University of Montana men's tennis team was swept 7-0 by the University of Oregon in a dual meet Friday afternoon.
The Ducks won all nine matches against the Grizzlies to improve to 9-5 overall this season. Tomislav Sokolic and Eric Metzger were the only Montana players to win a set over their Oregon counterpart.
Sokolic lost to Oded Teig 6-7, 6-1, 6-3 in the No. 3 singles slot and Metzger fell to Cedric Van Haver 6-1, 5-7, 6-2 in the No. 6 singles match.
In the No. 1 singles match Thomas Schneiter defeated David Froschauer 6-0. Guillermo Carter beat Eric Goldstein 6-0, 6-2 in the No. 2 singles slot. Leslie Eisinga beat Justin Lindbloom 6-3, 6-1 and Joaquin Harndan downed Jonah Standford 6-1, 6-0 in the No. 4 and 5 singles matches.
The Grizzlies lost all three of their doubles matches.
