Montana shooters fare well at regionals

SEDRO-WOOLLEY, Wash. - Montana shooters Carrie Jamrogowicz of Missoula and Ben Smith of Philipsburg shined during competition at the U.S. Practical Shooting Association Area 1 Regional Handgun Championship held June 24-27.

Smith claimed the Senior Production division title by shooting a final score of 722.3419, more than 42 points ahead of his nearest competitor, Dave Thomas of Mount Vernon, Wash.

Jamrogowicz was narrowly edged out of first in the Women's Production division contest by a little more than six points to claim second. Jamrogowicz won the title in 2008 and 2009 and was going for her third consecutive win. She shot a final score of 834.2349 to finish second to Nancy Huspek of St. Paul, Minn.
