Former Missoula Osprey infielder Sergio Santos continues to impress in his transition to the bullpen for the Chicago White Sox.
The right-hander has allowed just one run in 18 appearances spanning 17 1/3 innings this season. He's struck out 21 batters and walked seven. Santos switched to pitching 14 months ago after seven seasons as an infielder.
The Arizona Diamondbacks' top pick in the 2002 MLB Draft, Santos made it as high as Triple-A as a position player.
Also, Luis Terrero, who was an outfielder with the Osprey in their inaugural season in Missoula, was named the International League Player of the Week recently.
Terrero hit .333 with four homers and 12 RBIs for the Class AA affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds in the week ending May 16. Terrero is one of 30 ex-Osprey players to make the majors.
