The Missoula Osprey couldn't overcome a six-run third inning in an 11-4 loss to the Ogden Raptors on Tuesday in Ogden, Utah.
The O's committed six errors, which led to five of Ogden's 11 runs being unearned. Starting pitcher Deyni Olivero allowed five runs, two earned, in two innings, while reliever Geraldo Sanchez gave up three runs, two earned, in three innings.
The Raptors committed four errors themselves but recorded 12 hits to the Osprey's nine and drew five walks to Missoula's one. The O's left 11 runners on base, while Ogden stranded nine.
Buddy Kennedy hit a solo home run for the Osprey, Nick Dalesandro drove in two runs, and Jesus Munoz tallied one RBI.
The O's dropped to 13-12 overall as they played their first game against a team from the Pioneer League South. The Raptors' 16-9 record is tops in the Pioneer League regardless of division.
Missoula and Ogden will play game two of their four-game series 7 p.m. Wednesday.
