Former Missoula Osprey pitchers and teammates Daniel Stange and Hector Ambriz were called up to the major leagues just one day apart, making them the 30th and 31st former Osprey to reach the bigs.
Stange, a right-hander, already made his major league debut in the Arizona Diamondbacks' 13-5 victory over the Chicago Cubs on Thursday. He pitched a scoreless ninth inning. Stange, who was at Triple-A Reno, replaces Leo Rosales, who was put on the 15-day disabled list.
Ambriz was promoted to the big leagues after coming off the Cleveland Indians' 15-day DL. Ambriz, also a righty, was picked up by Cleveland in December's Rule 5 Draft from the D-backs. Ambriz finished the 2009 season with Reno.
Both Stange and Ambriz played for the Osprey during their Pioneer League championship season of 2006.
