The volleyball teams from Montana and Montana State will renew their rivalry at 7 p.m. Tuesday night at Dahlberg Arena in Missoula. It will be the Big Sky Conference opener for both squads.
Montana State owns a slight 57-56 edge in the all-time series between the schools, which dates back to 1975. The teams split last season, with each winning on its home court.
The Bobcats (4-5, 0-0) are coming of a five-set loss last week at home to Seattle University. They are led by libero Allyssa Rizzo, who ranks third in Division I with an average of 6.0 digs per set.
MSU has three attackers averaging more than 2.7 kills per set, led by Evi Wilson’s 2.86 average, which ranks 10th in the league.

Montana (1-10, 0-0) won its first match last weekend, a five-set victory over Air Force at the Thin Air Challenge in Colorado.
The Grizzlies saw the return of setting Ashley Watkins to the lineup last week. Watkins, who has accumulated more than 2,600 career assists, missed the first eight games due to injury.
The Bobcats and Grizzlies will meet again on Oct. 29 in Bozeman.
