MISSOULA — Winning true road games has been real struggle for the Montana women's basketball team the past three-plus seasons.
In the three campaigns prior to this one, the Lady Griz were a combined 7-28 playing in opponent's gyms. This season they're 0-2 in true road games.
Montana has a good chance to improve on that record Friday when it plays at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix Friday at 6 p.m. The Lopes have stumbled to a 2-4 record this season after finishing 16-14 last winter.
A win would be a nice feather in Montana's cap with league play starting in 22 days.
After Friday, the Lady Griz will have only one true road game in preconference play remaining, that coming at Washington in eight days. Winning in Seattle will be no piece of cake, making it even more important to experience some true road success at Grand Canyon.
