The Montana women's volleyball team made pretty quick work of Eastern Washington on Thursday night at the West Auxiliary Gym, taking the Big Sky Conference match 3-1.
The Griz won 25-16, 25-20, 26-28, 25-18.
Montana moved to 5-2 in league matches, 8-11 overall. Eastern Washington, picked to finish last in the preseason poll, fell to 0-7, 8-11.
Eastern Washington scored the last three points of the third set to extend the match, but the Griz responded in dominant fashion to close out the Eagles.
The Griz enjoyed a strong night at the net, hitting .328 as a team. Mykaela Hammer led the Griz with 18 kills, but she received plenty of help from Alexis Urbach, Baily Permann and Olivia Bradley, who combined for 31 kills.
Ashley Watkins ran the offense with 50 assists and Sarina Moreno chipped in 16 digs.
Eastern, which hit .172, was led by Makenna Davis with 13 kills.
The Griz return to action when they host Idaho at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
