HELENA - Carroll College men's basketball coach Brandon Veltri has announced the signing of 6-foot-3 forward Stefan Buratto of Sandpoint, Idaho.

Buratto averaged 24 points and eight rebounds per game at Sandpoint High. He had season highs of 42 and 35 points, both against Idaho 5A state champion Post Falls. His 42 points beat a school single game record set in 1965.

Buratto was named the North Idaho 4A player of the year and was co-MVP of the Idaho North vs. South all-star game after scoring 30 of his 42 points in the second half. He hit nine 3-pointers, an all-star game record.

Buratto's father, Mike, played football at Carroll from 1984-87 while his mother, Christina Rust, played volleyball for the Saints from 1986-1990.
