BOZEMAN - Esteban Ferrero beat David Cysneiros in the No. 5 singles match to clinch Montana State's 4-3 victory Sunday morning over the University of Montana in men's tennis action that does not count as a Big Sky Conference loss for the Grizzlies.

With the duel deadlocked at 3-3, Ferrero bested Cysneiros 7-5, 6-3 to earn the Bobcat victory.

Montana State earned the doubles' point by sweeping all three matches, the most competitive of which was a 9-8 win in the No. 1 spot by Alberto Fuentes and Fletcher Keys over Mikolaj Borokowski and Carl Kuschke.

In the singles' matches, the Bobcats received victories by Pawel Turzansky at No. 1 and Keys at No. 2 prior to Ferrero's win.

The Grizzlies (2-3) saw Borokowski win his No. 3 singles match 6-0, 6-2 over Corey Smith. Montana also posted wins from Josh Smith the No. 4 slot and Michael Facey at No. 6.

The UM men return to the courts Friday, when the travel to Flagstaff, Ariz., to face league foe Northern Arizona.
