Seniors Brooke Moody and Tyler Adair and junior Mackenzie Akins of the Montana soccer team were named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America University Division Scholar All-West Region team recently.

Moody, the Big Sky Conference co-Defensive MVP, was named to the first team; Adair, one of only two unanimous first-team All-Big Sky Conference selections in the fall, was named second team; Akins, second-team All-Big Sky last season, made third team.

To be eligible, nominees must have at least a 3.3 cumulative GPA and be a significant contributor to the success of their team.

Moody, of Parker, Colorado, has a 3.7 GPA as a psychology major; Adair, of San Diego, California, a 3.4 GPA as a marketing major; and Akins, of Lake Elsinore, California, a 3.4 GPA as a communication studies major.

The NSCAA recognizes just four regions for its elite scholar teams, with 11 players making up the first, second and third teams in each region. Montana’s total of three selections was surpassed in the West Region by only Washington, Stanford and UCLA.
