Rapid City, S.D., native Whitney Paluch, having graduated from Cal State Northridge, accepted a tennis scholarship from the University of Montana recently and will play out her final year of athletic eligibility as a graduate student in Grizzly colors.

Paluch, whose prep record in singles play distinguished her as the winningest tennis player in South Dakota history, completed her psychology undergraduate degree in three years, graduating with honors in May.

Playing for Stevens High of Rapid City, Paluch recorded a 158-11 career record in singles play.

Paluch earned an all-conference honorable mention for her 13-6 performance in No. 2 doubles play with Nina Jaworoski in 2010 for CSUN. Playing between Nos. 2 and 5 for Northridge, Paluch went 8-10 in singles play for 2010, where the Matadors earned a 12-8 overall record.
