KALISPELL – Hellgate pushed its winning streak to double digits with a 59-43 victory over Kalispell Glacier in Western AA play Tuesday evening.

Hellgate, which hasn’t lost since falling in overtime to No. 1 Helena Capital on Jan. 24, improved to 9-2 in league games with a 15-4 mark overall with its 10th consecutive win. The Knights trail only the Bruins (10-0, 17-1) in the Western AA standings, but both of Hellgate’s conference losses have come against Capital and the Bruins have clinched the No. 1 spot and a bye into the State AA tournament in two weeks.

Hellgate can do no worse than second now, meaning it will host the No. 7 team in a state play-in game next week.

Tres Tinkle paced the Hellgate attack with 23 points and eight rebounds. The junior also shot 3 of 4 from 3-point range as he and Brady Henthorn (3 of 6) combined for all of Hellgate’s treys. Henthorn finished with 14 points.

Glacier guard Evan Epperly scored a game-high 24 points and the senior also had three steals on defense. The Wolfpack picked off 14 steals total.
